TGIM 12-19-11
Thirteen days. That’s what’s left of your 2011. Feeling the stress yet?
In addition to holiday stuff and year-end work obligations, there’s that subtle or not-so-subtle pressure to take stock of your year and do something to make the next one better. You know the drill- a hard look in the mirror of your life, make the results into goals, resolutions and plans.
I might be your favorite person today because I’m letting you off the hook. For the next thirteen days I’m asking you to go against the tide and do none of the above; but something else instead.
What matters more than any assessments, goals or plans is your MINDSET. The beliefs and attitudes about your world and yourself that your mind carries into your next year make or break that year. There isn’t enough will power on the planet to overcome what’s in your mindset.
Mindset matters because self-fulfilling prophesies, aka the law of attraction are always in force. Success and happiness, defined as you chose, are an inside job. What’s inside your head trumps how you structure your life. So…
For the next thirteen days, try on these thoughts and if they feel good and right make them your upgraded mindset:
Be grateful for yourself and all you have created. Be proud of what you’ve accomplished. Be lighthearted about your failures (they prove you tried to create something good). Find the joy in every experience. Find the gift in every relationship. Reclaim your peace of mind. Trust yourself; you are smart, wise, capable and creative.
Just one more thing – trust that the resolutions, goals, VISION (I hope) and plans that come from your upgraded state of mind will be your best ever. TGIM: Thank God It’s Monday! Stay strong.
love,
margaret
